To sing the wind
2022
16-17.12.2022 Halle G, Tanzquartier Wien (TQW), Vienna
To sing the wind, a dance of paper-thin transparent songs.
If we listened, we might hear no discernible lyrics, no convenient message, and yet that is the point: this tune is our permission to fail.
to sing the wind is a contemporary choreographic work created by Alix Eynaudi, commissioned by Tanzquartier Wien specifically for the inaugural cohort of the PARASOL ensemble. Operating within the realm of expanded choreography, the performance functions as a delicate, sonic and physical landscape (weaving together a dance of ephemeral movements and non-linear presence).
The physical material dialogues directly with Peach of clouds- Speech of clouds, a specialized live musical compilation and sound montage performed by Han-Gyeol Lie and Paul Kotal. The performance also features a unique scenographic re-visitation of Krisha Piplits' lighting design originally created for Elizabeth Ward's Hedera Helix.
Concept and Choreography: Alix Eynaudi
Created and Performed by (PARASOL Artists): Alex Bailey, Camilla Schielin, Júlia Rúbies Subirós, Shahrzad Nazarpour, and Theresa Scheinecker
Sound Design, Music Compilation, and Montage: Han-Gyeol Lie and Paul Kotal

Production Management: Eva Holzinger for Mollusca Productions
Context: Commissioned by Tanzquartier Wien (TQW) as part of PARASOL, an intensive, institutionalized performance company for selected international artists in the field of expanded choreography.
