Accompany Class is an ongoing, self-organized training platform created by and for the freelance contemporary dance community in Brussels. We are a collective of independent movement artists who gather regularly to engage in what is traditionally called a "morning class."

Our project begins from a shared position of unknowing. No longer working strictly within rigid company structures, we have shed the definitive idea of what a dancer "should" train, learn, or maintain. Embracing this open territory, we have established a horizontal rotation system where members propose experimental training formats for and with one another.
By "teaching" a class or facilitating a studio practice, we actively counterbalance the structural isolation that often accompanies freelance status, sustaining our community through shared knowledge, physical assembly, and mutual support.

Accompany Class is explicitly not a space for pedagogical self-promotion or institutional career advancement; it is a low-stakes, low-ambition refuge where the local independent scene can simply meet and practice. It is a framework to begin the day together, sweat together, and then go back to answering emails. Operating without a permanent home, the project relies on temporary studio sponsorships and a mutual aid donation box, keeping participation accessible and entirely free. .
