Exposición Temporal is a performance project created and performed by noela covelo velasco  and Júlia Rúbies Subirós in which sound and choreography are redistributed. As a comparative exercise to the methodology Graindelavoix has developed with the material presented in the exhibition Time Regained at the Museu de la Música, Júlia and Noela compose a non-linear discourse from exhausted bodies and a tired sound system.

The project was developed within Creació i Museus, a programme initiated by ICUB that connects creation centres and museums across the city of Barcelona. Invited by La Caldera to develop a research project in dialogue with the Museu de la Música de Barcelona and the exhibition Time Regained, conceived from Aby Warburg's Mnemosyne Atlas, we began a process centred on transmission, reflections, images as visions, and the ways knowledge transforms as it travels through time.

Taking Graindelavoix's reinterpretation of Warburg's visual archive as a point of departure, we became interested in the possibility of translating this operation into the fields of voice, listening, and choreography. The piece investigates how voices, images, and memories circulate between bodies, technologies, and spaces, and how these elements are transformed in the very act of being transmitted.

Throughout the creation process, we also worked in the company of Hildegard von Bingen as an imagined collaborator. Rather than approaching her as a historical figure to be reconstructed, we are interested in her ways of understanding the world and in the forms of transmission present in her writings, compositions, and visions. In her accounts, the voice of God speaks through her, placing her in a complex position where author, medium, body, and channel of transmission coexist without ever fully coinciding. From this figure, we began to develop methodologies based on distributed subjects, displaced voices, and forms of presence that never entirely coincide with themselves.

On stage, voices detach from bodies, occupy loudspeakers, reappear elsewhere, fragment, and multiply. Cables, computers, portable speakers, and megaphones are constantly moved throughout the space, constructing a sonic geography in transformation. Technological devices cease to be mere tools and become presences with which bodies negotiate, collaborate, and coexist.

Exposición Temporal operates as an expanded soundcheck attempting to find itself in real time, where errors, interference, and misalignments form an integral part of its language. The work also establishes a parallel between sound systems and the material conditions of contemporary artistic production, attending to the forms of maintenance, care, and wear that sustain both technical infrastructures and the bodies that work with them.
